IRON COAGULANTS

PIX is a non-organic coagulant based on Fe₃+ trivalent iron. PIX is an excellent precipitating and coagulating agent for water and wastewater treatment processes. PIX bonds sulphides, consequently eliminating odour and the corrosion risk.

SAFE TRANSPORT OF PRODUCT IN CLOSED CONTAINERS:
PIX can be transported in tightly closed containers to the dosing locations in water and wastewater treatment plants.

DELIVERED AS:
PIX is delivered in various forms, according to the customer needs. Cistern trucks - cistern trailers or delivery trucks adjusted for transport of PIX, from 1 to 16 m³. it is 1.5 to 25 tons respectively. Access roads and yards should be large enough for long vehicles. Cistern trucks must be certified for transport of hazardous materials class 8. item 17c, id no. 3264.

DOSING:
PIX can be dosed as thinned or not with water, using dosing pumps resistant to chemicals. Valves and pipelines should be made of plastics: polypropylene, polyethylene, PVC or rubber coated steel.

STORAGE:
PIX must be stored in plastic (polypropylene, polyethylene, polyester laminates), rubber coated, ceramic or glass coated containers. NOTE: the containers should be flushed with water at least once a year.

HANDLING:
Use eye and skin protection while handling PIX in bulk.

SAFETY MEASURES:
PIX is lightly caustic. Avoid contact with skin. Wash skin with large amount of fresh water in case of contact. See product data sheet issued by KEMIPOL. Storage containers should be marked.

COAGULANTS PIX 112. 122. 113. 123 comprise:
Water solutions of iron sulphate.
Formula: Fe₂(SO₄)₃
Form: dark brown water solution of 40-42 % concentration.

PIX 110
Water solution of iron chlorosulphate.
Formula: FeClSO₄
Form: dark brown solution.

PIX 111
Water solution of iron chloride.
Formula: FeCl₃
Form: dark brown solution.

APPLICATIONS, coagulants for:
- Water and wastewater purification,

- Compacting sludge.
